BETRAYING CONVENTION

The first contemporary jeweller to call Place Vendôme home, Frédéric Boucheron is a pioneer. Driven by the idea of freedom, both aesthetic and technical, he constantly tested the rigid rules of jewellery making. Concerned above all with the wellbeing of his customers, he invented a clasp in the shape of a question mark that allowed them to fasten their necklace without assistance. "For us, women must be able to do what they want!" explains Claire Choisne, Creative Director. 160 years after its founding, the jewellery maison continues to innovate while upholding its fundamental values: "A woman must not submit to her jewellery, she must be free". ” ……

EVOLVING WITHOUT RENOUNCING

Perpetually reinventing her own sense of style while respecting tradition. It’s no easy feat but Claire Choisne brilliantly rises to the challenge. With new techniques and materials, her jewellery training allows her to push the boundaries of creativity. For some of her creations, she has come to use marble, sand and even real flower petals... "The sky’s the limit. Our savoir faire and our history, both long and rich, give us the power to invent." she explains. Her inspiration? Nature, and animals in particular, one of the maison’s cornerstones of style. Fashioned as rings and necklaces set with precious stones, they become talismans with protective powers.
